Glanton previously was a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 76th District from 2007-2011. He served as Secretary of the General Assembly from 2007-2008. Glanton did not run for re-election in 2010.
Glanton is retired from the United States Army.
He is Secretary-Treasurer of the Clayton County Ministers Conference, Pastor at New Life Christian Church, member of the Phi Theta Kappa Society, and Past Vice-President/founding member of the Georgia Military College Honor Society Chapter Zeta Beta Alpha.
Glanton is Chairman of the Clayton County Delegation, and a member of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus, Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, National Legislative Black Caucus, National Conference of State Legislators, Southern Legislative Conference, and a Graduate of the Georgia Legislative Institute.[1]

Glanton ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 75. Glanton defeated incumbent Yasmin Neal in the Democratic primary on July 31, 2012. No candidates filed to run in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4] Glanton ran unopposed in the general election.[5]
