Recall efforts
On June 2, 2011, a recall petition targeting Green for his support of taxing pensions was filed with the Tuscola County Clerk's office. Paul Piche, who submitted the language, stated, "What was done is wrong and he has to understand there is a price for how he votes. I think there are enough people out there to get signatures. It may not be that hard.”[4] The petition was rejected by the County Election Commission on June 13 for being too ambiguous.[5] Two days later Piche filed a second petition with revised language.[6] The petition language was approved on July 5, giving Piche 90 days to collect 23,229 signatures in order to initiate a recall election.[7]
The effort did not collect enough signatures to place the recall on the November 2011 ballot.

Green and his wife, Paula, have five children.
