Mike Hewitt is a Washington state senator, currently serving the 16th district.^[1] He is serving his third term and is a member of the Republican Party.

Professional experience

Hewitt was the Executive Director of the Walla Walla Chamber of Commerce. He is the owner of Hewitt Distributorship.

Political experience

Hewitt has served in the Washington State Senate since 2001. From 2001 to 2002 he served as Republican Assistant Whip. He was Senate Majority Whip from 2003 to 2004. In 2005 he served as Republican Whip. He has served as Republican Leader in the Washington State Senate since 2005.
