Rep. Mike Simpson, D-Liberty Township is facing a recall that was filed in 6 differnt forms by resident Russell Severance. The basis for the recall is Simpson's votes in favor the Michigan Service Tax and the Michigan Business Tax.
The effort
Russell Severance, the sponsor of the recall is receiving help from Leon Drolet and the Michigan Taxpayers Alliance to organize the effort.
Simpson has condemned the recall saying that he stood against his own party. "I will not stand by while that two-bit punk Leon Drolet and his out-of-state cronies... voice his opinion," Simpson was quoted saying.
