Mike Spano (b. April 22, 1964) is a former Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 93 from 1992 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2011. Spano changed political parties, in July 2007, from Republican to Democrat. In 2011, he resigned after being elected Mayor of Yonkers.[1]

Spano's other political experience is as a legislator with the Westchester Board of Legislators.

Biography

Spano attended Manhattan College. His professional experience includes serving on the board of directors of Leake and Watts Children's Services; working as an account representative for Valley Oil Company; and serving in the New York Guard.[2]

Spano ran unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary. He defeated Mike Ramondelli (R) in the general election on November 2.[3] In addition to his slot on the Democratic Party ticket, he was also listed as a candidate of the Conservative Party and the Working Families Party.
