Mike Spano (b. April 22, 1964) was a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. He represented District 93 from 1992-2004 and from 2007-2011. Spano changed political parties, in July 2007, from Republican to Democrat. In 2011, he resigned after being elected Mayor of Yonkers.[1]

Spano's other political experience is as a legislator with the Westchester Board of Legislators. His professional experiences include serving on the board of directors of Leake and Watts Children's Services; working as an account representative for Valley Oil Company; and serving in the New York Guard.

Spano attended Manhattan College. He and his wife, Mary, have three children; Michael Junior, Alexandra, and Christopher.[2]

Spano ran unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary. He defeated Mike Ramondelli (R) in the general election on November 2.[3] In addition to his slot on the Democratic Party ticket, he was also listed as a candidate of the Conservative Party and the Working Families Party.

On November 4, 2008, Spano won re-election to the New York State Assembly, District 93, defeating opponent James Faulkner (R).
