Mike the Mover was a 2014 National Union Party candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of Washington.[1]

He was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. Senate from Washington.

Mike Shanks changed his legal name to Mike the Mover to promote his household moving company based in Seattle and Edmonds, Washington. He has run for various state and federal offices over the past several decades.[2]

He sought the nomination as a Republican and faced incumbent Maria Cantwell (D), Timmy Wilson (D), Michael Baumgartner (R), Art Coday (R), Chuck Jackson (R), Glen Stockwell (R), and Will Baker (Reform Party) in the August 7 primary.[3] He was defeated in the primary.[4]
