Parcel taxes
A Mill Valley School District parcel tax election, or Measure A, took place on November 4, 2008 in Marin County for voters in the Mill Valley school district.

Measure A sought a $193 increase in the district's current parcel tax.

The school board unanimously voted to put the parcel tax increase on the Nov. 4 ballot. The measure increases the existing $427 parcel tax by $193 and extend the tax until 2018. There would be an exemption for seniors 65 and over.

Measure A was approved with 74.08% of the vote.

The measure brings the total parcel tax to about $620 per year, and will include annual 5% increases. It is expected to yield about $2 million a year in additional taxes.

Enrollment in Mill Valley has been climbing in recent years. After Measure A passed in November 2008, enrollment climbed by another 206 new students.[1]
