Milton J. Sumption was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 29 of the Illinois State Senate.

Sumption earned a degree in Mathematics and Economics from DePauw University. He then began working at a bank and became assistant branch bank manager. A few years later he joined the Peace Corps and served in it for two years.
