Milton Street was a Democratic candidate in the April 24, 2012, special election for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 197. The special election was called to fill the vacancy created when Jewell Williams (D) resigned after being elected Philadelphia sheriff in November 2011.[1]

Street served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1979 - 1981 and in the State Senate from 1981 - 1985. After leaving the Senate, he was sent to federal prison on tax charges arising from his work as a consultant.[2]

Street was defeated by Gary Williams (D) in the special election on April 24, 2012. Steve Crum (R) also ran. Party ward leaders nominated candidates for the election.[3][4]
