Minnesota's 3rd congressional district is one of the wealthiest in the state, encompassing the suburbs of Hennepin County to the north, west, and south of Minneapolis.[1]
Previously, the district encompassed portions of Hennepin County to the north, west, and south of Minneapolis.
The current representative of the 3rd congressional district is Erik Paulsen (R).

The 3rd congressional district of Minnesota will held an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 6, 2012, which incumbent Erik Paulsen won.[2]

On November 2, 2010, Erik Paulsen won re-election to the United States House. He defeated Jim Meffert (D) and Jon Oleson (Independence) in the general election.[3]

On November 4, 2008, Erik Paulsen won election to the United States House. He defeated Ashwin Madia (D), David Dillon (Independence) and Harley Swarm, Jr. (Write-in) in the general election.[4]
2006
On November 7, 2006, Jim Ramstad won re-election to the United States House. He defeated Wendy Wilde (D) in the general election.[5]
2004
On November 2, 2004, Jim Ramstad won re-election to the United States House. He defeated Deborah Watts (D) in the general election.[6]
2002
On November 5, 2002, Jim Ramstad won re-election to the United States House. He defeated Darryl Stanton (D) in the general election.[7]
