The
Minnesota Secretary of State election of 2010 was held on
November 2, 2010.
Democratic incumbent
Mark Ritchie was challenged by
Republican Dan Severson and
Independence Party of America candidate Jual Carlson. Ritchie won with 49.10% of the vote.
In the primary election on August 10, Ritchie defeated Richard "Dick" Franson, a former Alderman in the 12th Ward of Minneapolis and retired 1st Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Neither Severson nor Carlson was not opposed in the primary election.
