The Mississippi Bankers Association (MBA) was established in May of 1889 in Jackson, Mississippi. It held its first annual convention on this day with 31 member bankers, and continues to hold an annual convention every May.[1] In addition to providing a forum for bankers across the state, the MBA engages in government relations on behalf of banking interests. It lobbies state legislators, monitors relevant government and business issues, holds seminars, and operates its political action committee, MissBank PAC.
