Primary: Missouri is one of 14 states that uses an open primary system, in which registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party's primary.[1][2][3]

Voter registration: To vote in the primary, voters had to register by June 9, 2014. For the general election, the voter registration deadline was October 8, 2014.[4]

Incumbent: Heading into the election the incumbent is Ann Wagner (R), who was first elected in 2012.

Missouri's 2nd Congressional District is located in the eastern portion of the state and includes St. Louis, Franklin, Warren, Jefferson and St. Charles counties.[5]

2012

The 2nd Congressional District of Missouri held an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 6, 2012. Republican Ann Wagner won the election in the district.[15]

2010

On November 2, 2010, W. Todd Akin won re-election to the United States House. He defeated Arthur Lieber (D), Steve Mosbacher (L) and Patrick M. Cannon (write-in) in the general election.[16]
