The Judicial Taxation Ban is a constitutional amendment which would prohibit judges from imposing, restricting or raising taxes. In addition to banning court-ordered taxes, the initiative would also prohibit state courts form ordering lawmakers or governmental agencies to spend money except as approved by legislation or a vote of the people.
The measure was sponsored by the Republicans and has been vocally opposed by the democrats. The House sponsored a similar bill last year by a 91-60 vote, but the measure never cleared the Senate.[1]
