The Missouri Medical Benefits for Dependents Amendment, also known as Amendment 6, was on the November 2, 1982 ballot in Missouri as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have allowed the legislature to provide for medical benefits for dependents of state officers and employees. The measure also would have authorized the legislature to enable local governments to provide similar benefits for their public employees.[1][2]
