[1]
This measure sought to ask residents to approve a levy increase for the school district at a rate of $.29 per $100 of assessed property value. Some members of the Board of Education, though in support of the levy, wanted further information about the budget and potential cuts which could be made before the levy amount was decided. Though others in favor stated that it sent the wrong message to the residents since at first they did not even know how much the school wanted to levy. [2] Recently, residents showed their support for this measure by rallying for the schools. Residents noted that it had been a long time since the schools had asked for more money and helping was the right thing to do for the community.[3]
