Monroe, Perry & Shawnee Township & Cairo Village Levy Renewals, 4 (November 2010)

Four Township and Village Property Tax Increase measures were on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the townships of Monroe, Perry and Shawnee, as well as the village of Cairo, which are in Allen County.

All four measures were approved

The Monroe township measure sought to replace the expiring fire levy of $1 per $1,000 of assessed property for a further five years in order to help pay for fire services and emergency medical services offered in the township.

The Perry township measure sought to replace the expiring fire levy of $4.4 per $1,000 of assessed property for a further five years in order to help pay for fire services and emergency protection services offered in the township.

  • YES 674 (63.35%) Approveda
  • NO 390 (36.65%)

The Shawnee township measure sought to replace the expiring fire levy of $2 per $1,000 of assessed property for a further five years in order to help pay for police services offered in the township.

  • NO 1,250 (32.9%)

The Cairo village measure sought to replace the expiring fire levy of $4 per $1,000 of assessed property for a further five years in order to help pay for general operational costs of the village.[1]
