The Director of the Department of Revenue is an appointed state executive position in the Montana state government.
The Director serves as head of the Department of Revenue.
Current officeholder
The current officeholder is Mike Kadas. Kadas, a former mayor of Missoula and state legislator, was appointed in 2013 by Gov. Steve Bullock (D).[1]
Authority
Title 2, Chapter 15, Part 13 of the Montana Code addresses the creation of the Director of the Department of Revenue.[2]

Appointments
Per 2-15-111 of the Montana Code, the Director is appointed by the Governor with confirmation of the Senate. The director serves at the pleasure of the Governor and may be removed at any time.[3]
Compensation
In 2010, the Montana Director of the Department of Revenue was paid an estimated $96,967 according to the Council of State Governments.[4]
