HELENA, Montana: On Friday, August 10, 2012, the Montana Supreme Court delivered a ruling keeping I-166, or the Montana Corporate Contributions Initiative, on the November ballot. The court ruled on the issue saying, "The petition does not allege nor does this Court find that the petition was legally insufficient as to the requirements for submission of a proposed ballot issue." Within hours of the decision, lawyers for Montanans Opposed to I-166 filed a separate lawsuit challenging the measure with the United States District Court for the District of Montana.[1]
