Mundelein & Vernon Hills Village Electrical Aggregation Questions, 2 (March 2012)
Two Village Electrical Aggregation Questions were on the March 20, 2012 ballot in the villages of Mundelein and Vernon Hills which are in Lake County.
Both measures were approved[1]
These two measures sought to allow the village authorities to buy electricity in bulk for residents and small businesses in order to obtain lower rates. Residents and small businesses will be able to opt out of the programs if they do not want to have their electricity bought by the village. Village officials noted that they would be able to seek bids for electricity rates and buying in bulk would allow for more buying power by the village.[2]
