This measure sought to replace the current school levy which is set to expire with one set at a rate of $3.60 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a period of two years in order to continue to pay for general fund maintenance and operational costs in the district. School officials noted that some buildings in the district are over 60 years old and need to be further maintained. The Yakima Herald had given its support behind the measure, noting that the schools need to money in order to ensure continued services and opportunities for students in the district.

|The Board of Directors of Naches Valley School District No. Jt3 adopted Resolution No. 06-2011-12, concerning a proposition to finance maintenance and operation expenses. This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes, in place of an expiring levy, upon all taxable property within the District, for support of the District's General Fund educational maintenance and operation expenses: Collection years: 2013-2014; Approximate Levy Rate/$1,000 Assessed Value: $3.60, $3.57; Levy Amount: $2,650,00, $2,680,00. All as specified in Resolution No. 6-2011-12. Should this proposition be approved?|
