Murphy ran in the 2012 election for Idaho House of Representatives District 29A. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 15, 2012. Dave Bowen defeated Brian Nugent in the Republican primary. Bob Croker is running as an independent. Murphy withdrew from the race on August 3, 2012, and was replaced by Carolyn Meline. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. [1][2][3]
