Elections
2012
Kleinman ran as a write-in candidate in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Pennsylvania's 13th District. He was defeated by incumbent Rep. Allyson Schwartz in the April 24, 2012 Democratic primary.[2]
Write-In Candidacy
In March 2012, Kleinman withdrew his petition to gain ballot access for the primary election after the Schwartz campaign challenged more than 500 of the signatures he gathered. The challenge included an objection over the signatures Kleinman's deputy campaign manager, Patrick Morgioni, collected. Morgioni's registration form as a Democrat did not go through until four days after he started petitioning for signatures.[3]
