Williams was initially in a four-way Democratic primary on July 27, falling short of winner Jerry Tomlinson. However, he defeated Tomlinson in the August 24 runoff primary election by a margin of 2,310-1,465. Williams was defeated by Dustin Roberts (R) in the general election.^[1]
