National Center for Lesbian Rights
From Ballotpedia
The National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) is "national legal organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families through litigation, public policy advocacy, and public education."[1] It was established in 1977.
NCLR's request to join a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of California Proposition 8 (2008) was denied by a federal judge in August 2009.[2] NCLR was initially opposed to the strategy of filing a federal lawsuit against Prop 8.[3]
