Nebraska prepared for voter fraud

County, state, and federal officials are prepared for the possibility of voter fraud in Nebraska. Douglas County Election Commissioner Dave Phipps stated that the honor system is in play but "The computer is doing a lot of work for you and then we use a human being to actually look."[1] Phipps also said that voter fraud in Nebraska is rare, but that they are ready if it happens.

Feds
Special agents from the FBI will be on hand to handle any voter fraud claims on November 4th. In addition, federal prosecutors are involved as well. U.S Attorney Joe Stecher announced that his assistant Paul Boeshart has been appointed district election officer for the district of Nebraska. Boeshart will be overseeing the complaints of election fraud and voting rights abuses.[2]
In a released statement, Stecher said, "Election fraud and voting rights abuses dilute the worth of votes honestly cast. They also corrupt the essence of our representative form of government. As crimes against both the individual and the government, they will be dealt with promptly and aggressively. Anyone who has information suggesting electoral corruption or voting rights abuses should make that information available immediately to my office, the FBI or the civil rights division."[3]
Local training
Hall County Election Commissioner Dale Baker assured that steps are taken on the local level to stop election fraud and voter intimidation. According to Baker, all poll workers receive 90 minutes of training, and are taught to make sure that anyone who is registered and eligible receives a ballot and is allowed to vote. They must also learn about the Americans with Disabilities Act, so that they can assist voters who may need help, as well as what to do if a voter goes to the wrong polling place.[3]
