Nellie Gorbea is a Democratic candidate for Rhode Island Secretary of State in the 2014 elections.


Gorbea served as executive director of HousingWorks RI. Prior to that she was Deputy Secretary of State under Matt Brown (R) from 2002-2006. Additionally she has been an Economic Advisor to the Governor of Puerto Rico and worked with the Governor’s Committee on Children’s Services Planning in New Jersey.[1]

Gorbea is running for election to the office of Rhode Island Secretary of State. Gorbea won the Democratic nomination in the primary.[2] The general election takes place November 4, 2014.
