Nelson Dollar is a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. He has represented District 36 since 2005. He is current Deputy Minority Whip.

Dollar earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Social Sciences from Appalachian State University in, respectively, 1983 and 1985. He has worked as a public relations consultant, community college instructor, personnel director and business owner. He and his wife, Lorrie, have one child, Ian.
