Carson City, Nevada: In what will likely be its final ruling on the matter, the Nevada Supreme Court ruled that the petitions for a June ballot measure were invalid and should not be placed on the ballot. In a unanimous decision, the court also stated that the city improperly dealt with the measure. "In the future, should the city council believe that a ballot measure is invalid, it must comply with its statutory duty to place the measure on the ballot, and it may then file an action in district court challenging the measure’s validity," the court argued.[1]
