New Jersey Public Question Four (2007) is a legislatively referred amendment on the November 6, 2007 ballot. If approved, the New Jersey Constitution will "strike" the words "idiot" and "insane person" from the part of the Constitution dealing with persons who have been deemed mentally incapacitated, and therefore are not allowed to vote. Persons falling under these categories would be then referred to as "person[s] who have been adjudicated by a court of competent jurisdiction to lack the capacity to understand the act of voting."[1]
