New York's 8th congressional district

New York's 8th congressional district is located in the eastern portion of the state and includes Queens county.[1]
The district previously was split into two sections. The northern portion of it included most of Manhattan's Upper West Side, and continues south to include most parts of Hell's Kitchen, East Village, Chelsea, SoHo, Greenwich Village, TriBeCa, and Downtown Manhattan.
The southern portion in Brooklyn included parts of Borough Park, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Gravesend, Dyker Heights, Bath Beach, and Seagate.
The current representative of the 8th congressional district is Hakeem Jeffries (D).

The 8th congressional district of New York held an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 6, 2012. Democrat Hakeem Jeffries won the election in the district.[2]

On November 2, 2010, Jerrold Nadler was re-elected to the United States House for a seventh term. He defeated Susan L. Kone (R whom also ran on the Conservative Party ticket).[3]
