Two Newaygo County Education Agency Levy Increase measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the Newaygo county education district area which is in Newaygo and Muskegon Counties.

Both measures were approved in both counties.

The first measure sought to increase the current school levy by a rate of $.045 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further twenty years in order to continue to pay for general needs in the district.

Proposal 1: Shall the current charter limitation on the annual property tax rate for vocationaltechnical education in Newaygo County Regional Educational Service Agency, Michigan, be increased by 0.0457 mill ($0.0457 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation), for a period of 20 years, 2011 to 2030, inclusive (this increase will allow the intermediate school district to levy the maximum rate of 3 mills previously approved by the electors which has been reduced as required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963); the estimate of the revenue the intermediate school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2011 is approximately $60,098 from local property taxes authorized herein?

Proposal 2: Shall the current charter limitation on the annual property tax rate for the education of students with a disability in Newaygo County Regional Educational Service Agency, Michigan, be increased by .0309 mill ($0.0309 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation), for a period of 20 years, 2011 to 2030, inclusive (this increase will allow the intermediate school district to levy the maximum rate of 3 mills previously approved by the electors which has been reduced as required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963); the estimate of the revenue the intermediate school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2011 is approximately $40,635 from local property taxes authorized herein?
