Ciparro ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Tennessee's 2nd District. Ciparro was defeated by incumbent John J. Duncan, Jr. in the August 2, 2012, Republican primary.[2]

Stacey Campfield defeated Ciparro, Ron Leadbetter, and Steve Hill in the August 5 primary.[3] Campfield faced Democrat Randy Walker and independent Chuck Williams in the general election on November 2, 2010.
