Nick Gautreaux was a Democratic member of the Louisiana State Senate, representing District 26. He resigned after being appointed to the state Department of Motor Vehicles.[1]

In 2007 Gautreaux was re-elected to the Louisiana State Senate District 26. Gautreaux (D) finished with 28,459 votes while his opponent Mickey Frith (D) finished with 8,652 votes.[2] Gautreaux raised $263,556 for his campaign fund.[3]
