Kotik earned his BA in Public Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1972. He has worked as Property Assessor and Payroll Accountant for Allegheny County.
Kotik has served as Township Manger for the Robinson Township, Borough Controller, and City Council Member. He joined the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2003. He has served in that position since, representing the 45th District.
