The first measure was a referendum that sought to gain approval of a $63.6 million buildings project for the school district. It had encountered problems when the county clerk did not verify it by the deadline schedule, but a county judge fixed the issue and added it to the May ballot. The school district's budget has already been cut by $3.4 million and school officials are hoping further cuts wont be needed.

The second measure was a $35 million approval of the school district's operations fund over a period of five years.[2]
