Hammond supported a law to allow concealed carry of firearms in the state of Illinois when it came before the House in May of 2011.[2]

Hammond won election in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 93. Hammond was unopposed in the March 20 Republican primary and was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4][5]
