2010
Chavez ran for re-election in District 85 but was defeated by Naomi Gonzales in the April 13 Democratic primary runoff. Gonzales faced no opposition in the November 2 general election.
2008
On November 4, 2008, Chavez won re-election to the Texas House of Representatives from Texas's 76th District. Chavez ran unopposed in the general election, and she received 26,362 votes.[4] She raised $188,746 for her campaign.[5]
