Norman Stone, Jr. is a Democratic member of the Maryland Senate, representing District 6. Stone has been a member of the Senate since 1967. Stone served as President Pro Tem from 1995-99 and has been serving as President Pro Tem Emeritus since 2000.
Stone attended the University of Baltimore and the University of Baltimore School of Law (1960). He was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1960. In addition to serving as a state senator, Stone works as an attorney. Stone is a member of the Beth Council Knights of Columbus; Edgemere Moose and the North Point Peninsula Community Coordinating Council.
Some of the awards that Stone has received include: Annual Award of Excellence from the Local 37 International Union of Operating Engineers (2002); the Maryland Champion of Victims' Award from the Maryland Crime Victims' Resource Center (2003); the First Citizen Award from the Maryland Senate (2009); and Honorary member of the Ironworkers International and Local 16.[1]
Stone served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 1963-67.
