  • Through 2000, a total of 166 citizen-initiated ballot propositions had appeared on North Dakota's ballot since the beginning of the process in 1918. Of those, 75 passed and 91 failed.
  • With two initiatives on the 2002 ballot, the historical total of North Dakota's citizen initiatives increased to 168. One initiative passed, while the other one failed.

LR Financial Information Taxes The measure would eliminate the property tax exemption for land set aside for conservation or wildlife purposes unless otherwise provided by the legislative assembly. Approved
CICA Multi-State Lottery Lottery The measure would direct the legislative assembly to authorize the state to join a multi-state lottery for the benefit of the state. (2094) Approved
CICA Statutory Measure No. 3 (General) Taxes This initiated measure would create a Bank of North Dakota administered program providing for partial reimbursement of student loan payments for employed North Dakota residents under thirty years of age who have graduated from accredited post-secondary schools. Defeated
