The North Dakota Graduated Land Tax Initiative was on the November 5, 1940 ballot in North Dakota as an initiated constitutional amendment, where it was defeated.[1] The measure would have created a graduated land tax with a homestead exception of $5,000 for legal owner-resident farmers.[2][3]
