North Dakota medical marijuana petition submitted for circulation

BISMARK, North Dakota: Currently awaiting verification to begin circulaton, a North Dakota medical marijuana initiative proposes allowing patients with debilitating illnesses to use marijuana provided they were recommended to do so by a doctor.

The 22-page proposal is sponsored by State Rep. Steve Zaiser and was submitted for consideration on May 22, 2012. Once reviewed by the North Dakota Secretary of State's office, supporters may start petition circulation.[1]

In order to qualify for the ballot supporters are required to collect a minimum of 13,452 valid signatures and deliver them to the North Dakota Secretary of State by August 8.
