Two Northland Pines School District Tax Levy Exceeding Revenue Limit measures were approved on the February 19, 2013 election ballot in Vilas and Oneida, which are in Wisconsin.

The first measure authorized the Northland Pines School District to impose a property tax levy increasing its revenue beyond the state set limitations by $240,000 for the 2013-2014 year in order to fund the construction of certain fire safety structures.

The second measure authorized the Northland Pines School District to impose a property tax levy increasing its revenue beyond the state set limitations by $2.7 million per year three years in order to fund the maintenance of District programs and operations.[1]

Language of the resolution for the first measure:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Education for the Northland Pines School District supports inclusion in the final School District budget of the District of $240,000.00 in excess of the revenue limit set forth in Section 121.91, Wis. Stats., (as that limit is also adjusted by the separate referendum to exceed revenue limits for operatrional purposes in the event that said referendum is also passed or as that limit is defined by statute if no separate referendum is passed) on a non-recurring basis, in the final School District budget for the 2013-14 school year, such excess to be used to construct additions to existing walls for fire safety purposes, including new construction for fire and smoke containment in the event of a fire.[2]

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Education for the Northland Pines School District supports including $2,700,000.00 in excess of the revenue limit set forth in Section 121.91, Wis, Stats., on a non-recurring basis, in the final School District budget of the District for each of the 2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16 school years, such excess to be used to maintain School District programs and operations for each of these three years.[1][2]
