ANNAPOLIS, Maryland: House Minority Leader Anthony O'Donnell stated that he is considering challenging Democratic representative Steny Hoyer of the U.S. House. He also said that he would make his decision within weeks.[1]

O'Donnell also said that he began watching the race after learning that Charles Lollar, Hoyer's 2010 Republican opponent, would not be running again. He stated that the 2012 ballot will contain issues that will get the state's conservatives to the polls. "This is a very volatile environment," stated O'Donnell.[1]

Issues likely to appear on the 2012 ballot include same-sex marriage and a law allowing tuition breaks for illegal immigrants.[1]
