Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
|| Shall the limitation upon the total amount of general ad valorem taxes imposed upon real and tangible personal property for all purposes in any one year under the Michigan Constitution be increased in the County of Oceana, Michigan by .9948 mills (which is equal to $0.9948 per $1,000.00 of taxable value of all such property) for a period of four years, 2012 through 2015 inclusive, for the purpose of the continued operation of the Oceana County Emergency Ambulance Service? The amount of revenue the County will collect if the millage is approved and levied by the County in the first calendar year is estimated to be $1,064,932. The proposed millage is a renewal of a previously authorized millage, the revenue from which would be disbursed to the County of Oceana.
