Official lists of state legislative candidates, 2011

There are 578 state legislative seats up for election in October and November 2011. Prior to the election, states are required to release official lists of candidates who will be appearing on the general election ballot.

The general election date was November 8, 2011. State legislative elections will be held that day in Mississippi, New Jersey and Virginia. Louisiana will hold a primary on October 22, 2011 and its general election on November 19, 2011.

Some states place sample ballots online broken down by district. Others publish full candidate lists in a single document.
