- Through 2002, a total of sixty-six citizen-initiated ballot propositions had appeared on Ohio's ballot since the first initiative in 1913.
- With one initiative on the 2004 ballot, the historical total of Ohio initiatives through the 2004 election climbed to sixty-seven.
- Of the sixty-seven initiatives on the Ohio ballot through 2004, seventeen were approved, and fifty defeated.
