Ohio Adult Entertainment Referendum (2008)

The Ohio Adult Entertainment Referendum is a citizen-initiated referendum that, if passed, will nullify Ohio Senate Bill 16, the so-called "Stripper Law", that took effect on September 4, 2007. This referendum was originally proposed in 2007, but was disqualified due to insufficient signatures. It is once again being considered by the Ballot Board for the 2008 election on November 4.
Senate Bill 16 requires most adult businesses to close their doors between midnight and 6 a.m., and would have banned all contact between staff and customers by imposing the "6 foot rule." Those who violate the rule could be found guilty of a first-degree misdemeanor.
