Oklahoma ballot news Oklahoma House Speaker to fundraise for RNC May 15, 2013 By Megan Busse OKLAHOMA CITY,Oklahoma: Oklahoma House Speaker Republican T.W. Shannon will be fundraising for the Republican National Committee, according to reports. Shannon, known as a "rising star" in the Republican party, has what some describe as "a magic political combination of minority heritage, conservative ideas and a silky smooth presence." According to reports, the Republican National Committee plans to spend 2013 talking to Hispanic, black and Asian communities that supported Democrats in 2012 elections. Shannon was elected in 2006 and was elected House-speaker designate in 2011.
