The Oregon "Get Government Out of Politics" Act did not make the November 4, 2014 ballot in Oregon as an initiated state statute. The measure would have eliminated public employees’ abilities to make union contributions through payroll deductions in instances where the union utilized such money for political purposes. The chief petitioners of the this measure withdrew it from circulation on March 3, 2014.[1]

Sandra L. Chapin and Braeda Libby filed the initiative as the “Get Government Out of Politics Act II.”[1]

The measure was approved for circulation by the Secretary of State but was withdrawn on March 3, 2014.[1]

Sandra L. Chapin and Braeda Libby filed the “Get Government Out of Politics Act II” on May 15, 2012 in the Office of the Secretary of State. In order to qualify for the ballot, supporters were required to collect a minimum of 87,213 valid signatures by July 3, 2014. They withdrew the initiative on March 3, 2014.[1]
